As soon as you enter the driveway “The
Vision” will start its magical effect on you. As the panorama
unfolds before your eyes your worldly worries will ease and melt
away.
Imagine lying in bed and looking over the Ovens valley as you
enjoy a coffee! Watch the sun illuminate the majestic rocky crags
of Mt Buffalo then the Folded Hills and forested foothills around
the vast amphitheatre. Mists form and evaporate, intriguing cloud
patterns too! A massive patchwork of farmland lies 250m below stretching
a hundred kilometres or more to the Victorian Alps to the south
(snow capped in winter).
Probably our resident magpies will carol the dawn-and perhaps
kookaburras will join in. Each day you can see wedge-tailed eagles
soaring on the air currents rising on the escarpment before your
eyes.
Then retire to our tranquil elegant shaded gardens and lawns
all around the homestead. You may be joined by a trusting and curious
family of blue fairy wrens. Parrots and honeyeaters will come to
drink and bathe in our fishpond and waterfall as you relax with
a drink or dine outdoors at the garden settings and barbeque.
Each evening you can enjoy the spectacular and ever-varied sunsets
from the “sunset seat” at the western end of the homestead
garden. Stroll around the gardens and open areas and visit the “enchanted
forest” (our woodlot).
There is plenty of room to walk and ride a bike too! Around the
property or perhaps to Murmungee lookout-nearby. Directions- From
Fighting Gully Rd. where you left the bitumen to approach “The
Vision” retrace your steps and cross the bitumen then follow
Lady Newton Drive to the lookout (2km). It has picnic tables and
information. About an 8km round trip. |
